Music & Worship Arts

It is the mission of the Galloway Choirs to joyfully lead and facilitate each worshipper’s encounter with Christ Jesus by singing well-crafted music with great theological integrity.

It is dependent upon an earnest commitment and active participation in an environment of mutual love and respect as a family of faithful friends devoted to serving God in Christ, Galloway United Methodist Church and one another.

The Galloway Chancel Choir leads worship each Sunday morning in our 11:00 a.m. service. This choir is open to adults who feel a call to serve God through the musical gifts He has given them. The choir sings a variety of styles from hymns that reflect our heritage as well as the latest Sacred choral works.
This group also presents several special programs throughout the year and sings for community events. They meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the choir room located behind the sanctuary.

Instrumental Groups

Bluegrass Ensemble

The bluegrass ensemble gathers most Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the home of our director, Jimmy Robertson. We have pickers and singers, and some who do both. We enjoy lots of different types of music. We don't just do bluegrass and we don't just do gospel. You're welcome to come by. We always have more fun than the people who listen to us.

For more information about our Bluegrass Ensemble, contact the Worship Arts office at 601-326-3450.

Sanctuary Organ

The creation of Galloway's new organ by Casavant Freres took ten months to complete. Each piece of the instrument -- keys, pedals, console, windchests, wood and metal pipes -- was custom designed and handmade. Click the link below for a full PDF of information about it.

Handbell Ministry

The Chancel Bell Choir performs in worship several times a year, and rehearses on Mondays 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
It’s a great way to be a part of the church community, grow spiritually through music and have lots of fun too.

No experience required, but the ability to count and read music is a must.

The Chancel Bell Choir is open to high school, college and adult ringers.  They have way more fun than the Chancel Choir.  Just saying.
