Galloway’s Ministry to Children and Families places emphasis on fellowship, service and inter-generational learning opportunities. We hope to offer meaningful ministry that allows all families to grow in God’s grace together. Join us for weekly learning opportunities through Sunday school and worship and be sure to keep up with the calendar of events and join us for family movie and game nights, special worship and service opportunities and more.

Galloway celebrates its children, youth, and the adults who serve with them. Safe Sanctuaries is an initiative of the United Methodist Church to adopt policies and procedures to reduce the risk of child abuse in the church. Galloway is committed to creating a caring, nurturing, and safe environment for all of our children, youth, and the adults who minister to them.

The Children’s Moment is a special time specifically designated for children attending the 8:30 and 11:00 service. During this time, children are invited to come down front with Ms. Meg and spend a few minutes focusing on the scripture lesson for the morning. This time is designed to have the children engage in and understand the scripture and topic for the day in a way that is meaningful and age appropriate. Following the Children’s Moment, children are invited to return to their seats, or parents may escort them to the nursery if they are under the age of 4. Currently we do not offer Children’s Church during the 8:30 or 11:00 service.

Galloway’s children’s Sunday school teachers work with Meg Hanes (Children & Families Ministry Director) to select curriculum for students that engages children in interactive, age-appropriate learning through story, craft, song, games, and discussion to teach the stories of Scripture and apply them to our lives. Galloway’s kids have enjoyed lessons from a variety of resources.

All classes meet during the Sunday School hour between services from 9:45am-10:45am

The nursery is open for each worship service for children from infants through three years of age. A nursery is also available during Wednesday Night Summit and for many of the Bible Studies and special events upon request.

The Nursery is found in the Children's Wing located on the 3rd floor annex.

For children 3-5 years old who are not quite ready for “big church,” children’s church is offered following our Children’s Moment at our 11:00 service. During that time, children will dive deeper into what was introduced during the children’s moment through games, crafts, and music. Children’s Church is located in room 345 of the Children’s Wing.
