Babies To Be

God is blessing our community of faith with the gift of new life through our young families. It is so important that we continue to reach out in love and support to them during the important journey of expecting and birth. Babies To Be is a ministry that provides support for our expectant couples through a Prayer Partner and our Yard Stork ministry.

Are you expecting?
Please call the church (601) 353-9691 and let us know your due date so we can assign you a prayer partner and add you to our Connects Prayer list for Expectant Parents.

Volunteers
We need volunteers from our congregation to keep up with the wonderful gift of growth we are experiencing at Galloway! Please contact Susan Richards  in Congregational Care Ministry if you would be willing to be a Prayer Partner for one of our expectant couples.
Let’s celebrate God’s gift of new life together as we love and support these couples.

Caring Cooks

A frozen casserole is welcomed by those who are sick, grieving, or if there is a new birth in the Church family.

  • To cook a casserole - pans for your use are available at the Church in the Gathering Area.
  • To help deliver these casseroles in your neighborhood.

Mary & Martha Guild
This is a ministry of hospitality that offers support by serving a meal before or after the funeral of a church member. To help in our Grief Ministry or volunteer to work with this caring group of volunteers, request more information from Congregation Life & Care Ministry by calling (601) 326-3447.

Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers work quietly in our congregation one-on-one, by meeting with persons who are going through a crisis in their lives. If you would like to receive Christian care from a Stephen Minister, please contact Cary Stockett, Susannah Grubbs Carr, or Susan Richards. If you are interested in training to become a Stephen Minister contact Susan Richards , 601-326-3447, to refer someone (ask their permission first) or to ask for care of a Stephen Minister for yourself.

Grief Support Group

Grief takes many forms; the loss of a loved one through death, health or caregiving issues, job loss. Life changes such as the empty nest, divorce, retirement and many other transitions. Galloway’s Grief Support Group is a safe place to process grief with others, and to know that you are not alone. This group meets on a monthly basis and is led by Galloway member and retired hospital and hospice chaplain, Nash Noble. If you wish to attend or need more information, please contact Susan Richards in Congregational Care at srichards@gallowayumc.org or call 601-326-3447.

Funeral Greeters & Ushers

Galloway’s Funeral Greeter and Usher teams assemble when there is a funeral at the church. They provide directional guidance, a comforting word and a smiling face to grieving families. Team members are notified of the need, time and place of a Galloway funeral, and asked about their ability to serve. If you are available to serve and wish to share God’s love in this way, please contact Susan Richards in Congregational Care at 601-326-3447 or e-mail srichards@gallowayumc.org.
