Bishop Sharma D. Lewis and the Cabinet of the Mississippi Conference, during the Appointment Sessions, worked prayerfully together to appoint clergy in our Annual Conference. As Chairperson of the Pastor Parish Relations Committee, I give thanks for the ministry of our pastor, Rev. Cary Stockett, who has been a servant leader among us. As he moves into retirement, we will continue to pray for him. Our church will receive the Rev. Dr. Raigan Miskelly as our new pastor. She will be coming off renewal leave and will lead us in worship for the first time on Sunday, July 21st. Let us pray now and through these coming weeks for this transition in our church.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, our Living Savior, we give you thanks for our church. It is a gift of grace to us. We are deeply grateful for the leadership of Rev. Cary Stockett who has served us as pastor, teacher, leader and friend in Christ. May your grace be upon him and his family in the spiritual adventure that lies ahead. As the Rev. Dr. Raigan Miskelly comes to be our next pastor, we pray for her. May your grace abound in her life, giving peace and joy and confidence in this new beginning. May we remember that we do not experience this transition alone so we lift up the churches and pastors throughout Mississippi that share this time of transition with us. Empower us to fulfill your mission of making disciples as WE serve you. AMEN

Memo from Rev. Susannah Grubbs Carr
Dear Galloway family,
Grace and peace to you from Italy! As most of you know I am currently involved in leading a group of clergy women on Pilgrimage to return at the end of this next week. Due to this prior committment I regret that I could not be with you when SPRC shared the news of the appointment changes taking place in July. However, let me say first and foremost, I am very excited for you that Brandon is coming to Galloway to lead you. He is deeply gifted and a faithful leader. You will be in such good and creative hands!
Secondly, I want to share with you how grateful and proud I am of the time we have shared together in ministry these last four years. We have done good and faithful work in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and will continue to do so until my departure in June. I am also honored and excited that Bishop Lewis has appointed me to lead and love in a new context and season of ministry. As an itinerant pastor, I have experienced time and time again the promise of our God in which God always goes before us to prepare the way as we say, “Here I am, Lord. Send Me!” Therefore, I have no doubt--even as I type these words to you--that the Holy Spirit is preparing the way for all these transitions ahead. All is well and God is good!
Peace and Easter Joy,
Susannah
