GALLOWAY CAREGIVING GROUP

Are you going through a difficult time in life? As we journey through life, sometimes there are curveballs thrown in our paths. We hurt, and we need a Christian friend to talk to, to journey with us, and to be there just for us. Galloway Cares is a group designed to provide one-to-one care to individuals who are experiencing difficulties such as separation or divorce, job loss, the empty nest, the death of a loved one, a difficult diagnosis, or caregiving for someone in poor health. Galloway Cares, and we want to talk to you! If you want to talk about receiving care or about providing care through this group, please contact Susan Richards at 601-326-3447 or srichards@gallowayumc.org. Galloway Cares about You!

Forming a New Caregiving Group
Congregational Care Ministry

I am grateful that Galloway is a caring congregation. On most occasions when I enter the doors for work or worship, I am greeted by someone who offers a caring hug, a handshake or a “How are you?” I hope you have experienced the same thing at Galloway, because we want to show the love of Christ to all who enter our doors. Sometimes, we are hurting, and we need something more than a hug, handshake or a “how are you.” We need a Christian friend to talk to, to journey with us, and to be there just for us. For over thirty years, Galloway has offered Stephen Ministry as a Christian caregiving experience. Through the years, this ministry has offered help to many people. As times have changed, we see our needs changing, and we see the need to evolve our caregiving ministry into a model that will include more caregivers to help us care for more hurting people (care receivers). Whether or not you have been a Stephen Minister, you may have the gift of compassion. You may have been the friend that others turn to when they need a listening ear. If so, you can be part of this new caregiving group. If you are hurting, and you long for someone to listen to you, someone to journey through a dark time with you, someone to be there for you, then you can be cared for as part of this group.

Galloway Cares, and we want to talk to you!
