Our mission to those living on the margins in our local neighborhood.

Adopt-A-School/Book Buddies, Galloway is part of the Partners in Education Adopt-A-School Program plan with the Jackson Public School District. Our adopted school is Clausell Elementary, which serves students in grades pre-K through fifth. We participate in ongoing activities during the school year, including Reading Buddies, providing judges for the science and reading fairs, career fair mentors, gifts during teacher appreciation week, Dr. Seuss’s Birthday and Rise 2 Read program. We need volunteers that enjoy shaping young minds and hearts.

Bethlehem Center, The Center serves low-income families and individuals through affordable quality childcare, a free income tax assistance program, a counseling center, and various community development initiatives. Our Galloway volunteers are Reading Buddies and tutors.  If you have an hour once a week, consider picking up a book and reading to a group of preschoolers or helping a child in the afterschool program with their homework.

Grace Place, We serve a hearty morning meal four days a week, and a chapel service with communion once a week. We assist in directing people to places that can aide them in their physical and mental needs, as well as counselling with our ministerial staff.  A clothing closet offered on Thursdays provides needed clothing and toiletry items.

Transformation Cycles is a ministry that provides bicycles and safety and security related accessories to individuals served by Grace Place. This bicycle ministry will provide a means of basic transportation while serving as an opportunity to establish meaningful relationships with our brothers and sisters who come to Grace Place. A person earns their bicycle through community service, and then receives hand-on training for maintenance. Donations of adult bicycles are welcome.

Stewpot Community Services, Provides a variety of services to children, elderly, disabled and impoverished people in our community. Stewpot provides volunteer opportunities for the Galloway members serving at their food pantry and community kitchen. If you are thinking about a place to volunteer outside the walls of Galloway, think about Stewpot.
