Older Adult Ministry
Lamplighters
Lamplighters are volunteers who visit our home-bound or assisted living members and share information about their visits with the church so we can continue to care for these individuals. We ask that members are visited at least once a month.

Birthday Ministries
A Galloway lay person contacts people ages 85 and older on their birthday.
In-Home Communion
- Lay people offer to take communion at least twice a year during Lent, on World Communion Sunday or upon request to our homebound and to those in assisted living facilities and in nursing homes.
- Galloway also offers monthly communion at The Blake in Flowood.
Care-A-Van
Galloway’s Care-A-Van ministry brings senior adults to Galloway to worship each Sunday. This service started with one van going to St. Catherine’s. On the first week, there was one rider and one very optimistic driver. Over the weeks and months, the ministry grew. We currently send one van to St. Catherine’s and one to The Blake in Flowood. We have had as many as fourteen senior adults, attending Sunday worship services due to the Care-A-Van ministry. Volunteers serve once a month as drivers, assistants or greeters.
